All jewels are unique!
All products are handmade and with African glassbeads, with history and interesting stories behind them.
African glassbeads form the inspiration for unique combinations with gemstones, rocailles, silver, bronze and other metal. With much pleasure I make necklaces and bracelets.
I like the look and the feel of the beads. The colors are bright and deep. Most beads are made in Venice (Murano) and shipped to Africa in past centuries. But there are also beads made in Bohemia and in Holland.
I also work with newly made glassbeads. This is a very special form of recycling! The so-called Krobo-beads are made of used glass. There are translucent beads en powder-beads. I prefer the translucent ones because of their deep colors.
A part of the beads come from Burkina Faso. My husband’s parents buy regularly African art and beads. They also started several projects for the people around Ouagadougou, see the site of the friends of Burkina Faso.
In my blog (my beads) I will collect articles about the beads.
